Lectures by Omani artists in Leipzig and Berlin

|   Current

The Omani artists, Riham Noor and Rawan al-Mahrouqi, spoke at the 22nd November in Berlin and 27th November in Leipzig in front of an interested art audience about the art scene in Oman, the role of the Stal Gallery for this art scene and their experiences as resident artists in the Leipzig International Art Exchange Program (LIA) in the Baumwollspinnerei, the renowned creative center in Leipzig.

The response and interest was great. In Berlin about 30 and in Leipzig 50 people participted activly. The lively discussions following the lectures focused on themes such as "one's own path to art," "the economic perspectives of artists," and the contents and themes of Omani art.

The lecture in Leipzig was part of the "Oman Salon", a format designed for Leipzig and Central Germany by Dr Gabriele Goldfuß and her spouse Dr Wolfgang Zimmermann for members of the German Omani Society and an Oman interrested audience
